The Cotswold Clarinet Choir was established in 1996 by Dr Alec Hill, from members of the 'Charter Band'.
The original purpose of the group was to enable clarinet players of all abilities to meet during the school holidays. However, the group proved so successful that it has continued to meet on a weekly basis, every Wednesday, at the St Barnabas Church Hall in Gloucester.
Dr Alec Hill inspired the group providing the music, many of which were his own arrangements.
The choir is able to purchase new music to add to its varied repertoire through subscriptions provided by members.
